Les Bergers / The Shepherds / De Herders - part two, all voices

For organ students, Les Bergers is very suitable to start practising Messiaen's oeuvre. It is technically not so difficult, has a characteristic rhythm (groups of two en three semiquavers) and asks for the legato which is essential for his music. For the right wrist, Les Bergers is an excellent exercise in rotation. See the previous blog post for the left hand and the pedal.

Voor orgelstudenten is Les Bergers heel geschikt om kennis te maken met het oeuvre van Messiaen. Het is technisch niet al te moeilijk, heeft een kenmerkende ritmiek (groepjes van twee en drie zestienden) en vraagt om een legato dat essentieel is voor zijn muziek. Voor de rechterpols is Les Bergers een uitstekende oefening in rotatie. Zie de vorige blog post voor de linkerhand en het pedaal.
